Duluth River Train

$25.00

Your 2 hour train trip takes you along the St. Louis River Estuary (or Gitchigamiziibi), following ancient and modern trading routes. The estuary is where the Ojibwe found Manoomin (wild rice) and where Minnesota iron ore, midwestern grains and western coal entered world markets.  The LS&M RR (Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad) once traveled between St. Paul and Duluth. This 12 mile round trip section still remains, taking you on a scenic excursion highlighting the cultural, environmental and historic importance of the estuary.
